Reading the Bible has never been easier. With the advent of the computer and the Internet, many versions of the Bible, previously hard to find, are now available and accessible by millions of

users to browse and search various texts and translations of the Bible on their home computer.
When deciding what Bible software to purchase, check to see how the software you are evaluating
stacks up against the following list of features.
- What translations does it include? - Most companies that publish Bible software try
to ensure that it has the most common translations available. For English, this would include
translations such as the King James Version, the American Standard Version of 1901, the Geneva
Bible and others. Some publishers may include additional modern translations such as the New
International Version, the New American Standard Version, the English Standard Version, among
others.
- What original language texts does it include? - The Old Testament Scriptures were originally written in Hebrew and some Aramaic. The New Testament was originally written in Greek. It is helpful when the Bible software that you are using includes the original language texts. For the Old Testament, it would probably have the Hebrew Masoretic Text or it might have the Biblia Hebraica Stuttgartensia. For the New Testament, it may include different Greek New Testaments such as the Nestle Aland 27th edition, or the Scrivner Greek New Testament underlying the King James Version.
