Writing sales letters that actually sell do not require great writers to make them. All it needs is to know the techniques involved in writing an effective sales letter and constant practice.
Expert marketers agree that targeted sales letters are the ones that really bring home the big income. Here's how to write targeted sales letters:
1. Personalize! - You have to focus your letter to whomever you are writing it for. With this in mind, you have to know what would probably make this person act to contact you and make a sale after reading your letter. You have to do your homework by knowing what your addressee needs, if he/she already has what you're selling or offering and if what he/she actually has is working to meet his/her needs. Having a personal approach to your letter will make your reader feel that you really care to meet his/her need.
2. Be wary of right pronouns to use - When writing using a personal approach, be aware in the use of your pronouns. Using "you" in referring to your reader would complete the idea and feel that it was really written with the reader in mind.
3. Be clear, concise, and orderly - Writing a two-page letter is a big No-No! Same goes for writing content that keeps jumping to the beginning or have no clear direction. Write the sales letter in a manner that presents your services/products' benefits for the reader once you have grabbed their attention that the letter is really for them. A clear, concise, and orderly sales letter is easy to read and makes the experience pleasurable for the reader. It also makes it easy for them to return to your letter to pick-out key points, such as your products benefits, later on to use as reference for themselves or to refer to forward to colleagues.
