A vast majority of the world's population know to write. And many of them really know how to write good. Here, however, it is told 'a vast majority', not all. But in this vast majority, very few people write for something more than communication, the thing called good writing. And those who do, gain fame as good writers. Writing is a noble profession, but is gifted from birth to only a few. In the market having millions and millions of grammatically correct writers, it is hard to prove that you are a good writer, better than the rest of them. Mere bragging will not do.
The ones who have been gifted with creativity and dulcet writing skills constitute a rare exception, but this is not the only class that can thrive in writing good. With proper guidance, determination and obviously sincere practice, skills can be inculcated to impeove writing even in those innately less potent writers. To improve writing doesn't merely mean a lesson to play with words. It needs ideas, and more than that, emotions to improve writing. However, one thing that really counts is a passion to write. But sublime passion, if misguided, may end up in sheer frustration. To improve writing, you need a regular practice, and a guide to point out the flaws in your writing each time you write, thus refining your art.
Good writing, however, is not the simple expression of emotions too. It is the presentation of your emotions on the paper in a way that really touches. A bunch of sentences put together does not make a good writing. Rather, there should be a rhythm that you must follow in order to improve writing so as to appeal to the reader.
However, this is just one of the thing that gives those fine cuts to your writing. The main things that you should be tenacious to are regular practice and determination.
